Hanoi City, Vietnam, 17 November 2022 -- On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, the Salesians of the Vietnam North Delegation, together with Salesian cooperators and VDBs gathered at Van Phuc Community to celebrate the Mission Day.
Fr. Thomas Long, the Provincial Delegate for Mission, shared his thoughts on the Salesian Mission Identity, the first missionary send-off by Don Bosco at Genoa port in 1875. Fr Joseph Hien presented the reality of Vietnam missionaries in the world, the SWOT, the opinions from communities and the Mission Provincial Action Plan. Lastly, Fr Joseph Phuc talked about the Salesian works in the highlands of Vietnam. The climax of the day was the Eucharistic celebration. Fr. John the Baptist Hao, the superior of the Vietnam North Delegation shared in his homily the thoughts of Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II on mission.
Let us deepen and pray more for the passion for the souls, especially the young in the missionary field. We hope and commit to seek for more vocations as well as to form them to be true and zealous Salesian missionaries.
