       Sampran, Thailand, 1 February 2023 -- On 28 January 2023, the Salesian Family of Thailand, led by Fr. Nopphadol Joseph, the delegate, organized the Salesian Family Day at Baan Santitham Savio, Sampran, Nakorn Prathom Province. 120 participants from the various groups of the Salesian Family of Thailand gathered to celebrate the Salesian Family.

       In this event, the Strenna 2023 of the Rector Major entitled "As the Yeast In Today’s Human Family" was explained by Fr. Joseph Banchong Santisukniran SDB. This was followed by a round-table style sharing of the theme on how one can be like a yeast in the family and in society. Three lay persons were invited to share, namely: Mr. Phairat Jirasujarittham [Alumnus - Agri-business], Dr. Boonsom Namsomboon [ADMA], and Mr. Phuwadon Chaisomboon [Alumnus - Professor].

       In this same event, Fr. Dheparat Pitisant, the Provincial, awarded the 'Certificate of Participation' to the catechists and layman from the salesian institutes who completed the course on “Don Bosco and His Spirituality” offered by Don Bosco School of Theology - Philippines. The course is a 3-year program, taught for approximately 3 weeks a year (studying both onsite and online), offered to the salesian institutes in the EAO Region. The first group of 5 participants from Thailand has completed the program. Currently, there are still 20 catechists and laymen of the salesian institutes who are undergoing this program.

       The Salesian Family Spirituality Day culminated with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided by Fr. Dheparat Pitisant, the Provincial, and followed by a family like agape.

       During the meal, everyone got the surprise of their life with the presence of the 'Lion Dancers' from St. Peter Church, Sampran, which added color and excitement to all present.
