Parañaque, the Philippines, 11 December 2023 -- The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is a day filled with many blessings. The Salesians of Don Bosco Philippines North Province celebrated the reception of another grace from the Lord: presbyteral ordination.
The gift of ordination to the priesthood was bestowed upon Rev. Fr. Paul Aldrin Dungca, SDB, Rev. Fr. Adnan Alfred, SDB, and Rev. Fr. Daniel Gonzales, SDB.
The ordination took place in the beautiful church of the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Paranaque City, at 9:30 in the morning. The church was filled with people from different places in the Salesian settings, especially young people from distant locations such as Don Bosco San Jose, Tarlac, Pampanga, Laguna, and Metro Manila.
The Holy Mass was presided over by the Archbishop of Dagupan, Arch. Socrates Villegaz, O.P, DD. Accompanying him were the concelebrating priests, both Salesians and diocesan clergy. Archbishop Socrates' homily emphasized that a priest should be generous in giving himself to Christ and his ministry.
Towards the end of the Mass, the newly ordained priests expressed gratitude to their guests and the Lord through speeches. Finally, following the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice, they proceeded to the Gymnasium for the reception.
