Bangkok, Thailand, 24 November 2023 -- On 23 November 2023, the Salesian Commission of Social Communication, Thailand, organized a meeting of the press coordinators and the correspondents of each Salesian house with the goal of creating a wider understanding of their roles and responsibilities in order to have smoother cooperation. This was also an occasion to meet each other and share experiences.
In this meeting, the participants underwent a seminar on news writing led by Ms. Chuenjit Charoenpongchai, a television news anchor and host. She provided suggestions for writing news more professionally. The meeting was held at the Salesian Provincial Office in Bangkok.
Since 2021, the Salesian Commission of Social Communication, Thailand, has adjusted the role of the Coordinators of Social Communications and Correspondents for Salesian Bulletin & Newsletter, which previously existed, to a greater role. In addition to sending news and co-writing articles in Don Bosco Bulletin, they also act as media coordinators and animators among the group in the context in which they work.
At present, there are 33 coordinators and correspondents, both Salesians and laypeople, in Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. Some are still studying abroad - in Italy and in the Philippines. Such a system helps create a working network for the Salesian Commission of Social Communication, Thailand, to be more efficient and flexible.
