Sumba – Indonesia, 19 May 2024 -- It will be a year where there will be many changes, especially in terms of animators. This has happened to the youth at St Dominikus de Guzman, Weepangali station. The youth have adopted St Yohanes Bosco as their patron and the animator/leader for the period 2024 – 2027, which has now changed. Many people at Weepangali station were very enthusiastically welcomed, and they are very confident that youth involvement in the Church, especially this station, will have a good impact on the development of the Church.
This is certainly an encouragement for the Universal Church. When the enthusiasm of young people in carrying out service has not faded in the local Church, it still opens up hope for many Churches to be able to develop. The opening ceremony took place solemnly and then ended with the pledge of allegiance to duty and signing as a form of validation of one's position.
The homily given by Father Leo to the new animators of the Bosconian conveyed very clearly that young people must have the courage to be involved in service and prayer activities. This involvement will enrich this bosconian in its development. This is in line with the message conveyed in the Gospel of Easter Sunday VII, in which Jesus prays for the disciples so that they become one with God, just as Jesus became one with God.
