Theatre retains its magic, despite social media

CANLUBANG (Laguna Philippines) 17 August 2010 --In this time of the social media, theatre has not lost its distinct magic and grip in delivering a lesson.
This must be one of the reasons why our Prenovitiate in the FIN Province continues to stage theatrical presentations when major feasts of the Blessed Mother come along. This year, for the solemnity of Mary’s Assumption, the Prenovitiate staged the musical ‘The Queen’s Knight.’
Families of our aspirants came together with their friends and classmates to witness the performance. This year, the production staff and cast, composed of Salesians, prenovices and college students gave renewed life  to a musical written 14 years ago by then cleric Joel Camaya (now ordained).  It’s about the martyrdom of St. Maximilian Kolbe who gave his life in exchange for a man who was supposed to die in the hands of the Nazi soldiers.
The event was capped off with a rousing goodnight talk by Fr. Eli Cruz, FIN Province Provincial.
