The Latest Rector in place for ITM Vice-Province

TIGARAKSA (ITM-Ind): October 10 2007 -- While the Moslem neighbors were singing their nightly prayers for the forthcoming conclusion of Ramadan (month of fasting), the Salesians, along with friends, benefactors and other religious were welcoming the new rector (Fr. Chito Padilla) and saying good-bye to the previous one (Fr. Boedi Soerjonoto). The Tigaraksa formation house has reasons to celebrate. There is now a full time rector for this Salesian community. For the past 8 years the rectors of this house also took care of the provincial economy and was the house bursar too.
Now with Fr. Padilla, this formation house for aspirants and pre-novices along with the Training Center will have him as animator, father and guide. At age 55, his many years' experience as rector and novice master in East Timor will serve to support the young confreres who care for the aspirants and pre-novices. He will also be the confessor for the PostNovitiate confreres in Sunter-Jakarta.
In line with the efforts to consolidate the presences of the Salesians in Indonesia and East Timor, new rectors have been installed in the past 3 months: Sumba-Novitiate, Dili-PostNovitiate, Dili-Training Center and Laga-Parish.
