Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, 24 September 2016 -- Fr. Paul Leung has been installed as a new Mongolian Delegate and Rector of Mary Help of Christian community Ulaanbaatar. He made profession of faith in front of all the Salesians, FMAs and Salesian cooperators working in Mongolia in the Holy Eucharistic celebration. The Holy Mass was presided by Fr. Andrew Nguyen Trung Tin, the former delegate superior of Mongolia. In his homily he thanked all the salesians, he spoke about the humility and the forthcoming challenges of the mission. After the homily Fr. Paul Leung was given a book of “The salesian Rector” ministry of the animation and governing of the local community and Mongolian Delegate’s stamp by Fr. Andrew Nguyen Trung Tin which was very symbolic and significant.

Fr. Paul Leung hails from Hong Kong province. He is the youngest of 4 siblings. He was born in the year 1959; he made his first profession in the Salesian congregation in 1984, and was ordained priest in 1992. He came to Mongolia as a missionary in the year 2006. After coming to Mongolia he has been Rector of the Dominic Savio Community Ulaanbaatar (Care center) for 2 years, Rector of Don Bosco Community Darkhan for 6 years and Parish Priest of Mary Help of Christians Darkhan for 7 years.

In his thanksgiving speech he frankly confessed that he is not a competent administrator but with the cooperation of all the Salesians and others he can be. He has been working diligently and assiduously ever since he arrived in Mongolia, he is very approachable, simple, hardworking, and humble and a man of deep faith. The delegate of Mongolian is very happy to have him as a director and a leader for the next three years. The Delegate of Mongolia thanks him for his willingness to accept the responsibility and being available to serve the delegate of Mongolia and the Salesian congregation at large.

EAO Salesian Family wishes him Congratulations and God’s blessing!
