Council complete - and Fr Klement 'hands over': All for Jesus, Jesus for all!

ROME: 29th March 2008 -- Yesterday afternoon the Assembly completed its voting for Regionals - Fr Stefan Turansky (SLK) is now the Regional for North Europe, Fr José Miguel Nuñez Moreno (SSE) for West Europe.  Frs Ortiz and Frisoli were re-elected for Interamerica and Italy-Middle East respectively.
Fr Klement has written to Provincials from EAO, welcoming in Fr Andrew Wong and noting, in the bygoing, that his new role as Councillor for the Missions will certainly not see him absent from that part of the Salesian world where 'six of our twenty one countries are on the missionary priority list published in AGC 395'!  He expresses his gratitude for the very many messages of thanks, encouragement received in the first day of his appointment. 'Although I'm a missionary by vocation, starting to "foster the missionary spirit and commitment through the whole Society" (C. 138), is for me a surprising invitation to growth in charity and answer God's call', he adds.
Fr Klement welcomes Fr Andrew Wong into his new role as Regional, saying he 'is an excellent missionary and provincial, with abundant experience as formator and superior in the Philippines, East Timor and Indonesia.  I appreciate his wonderful witness of prayerful life and deep concern for the confrères'.
As new Councillor for the Missions, Fr Klement indicates that he has taken as motto, that of a Chinese Salesian confessor of the faith who died in the labour camps near Shanghai during the time of the cultural revolution.  His motto: All for Jesus, Jesus for all!
