Nae Rim, Korea, 22 January 2020 -- Three new clerics – Anh, SangHyun, Lee, Chang-Yong and Kim, Hyung-Seong took their First Vows in the SDB Korea Province after completing a year's basic training from 3 January 2019. The first vow ceremony falls on the day of Laura Vicuña’s feast day. Along with Dominic Savio, she is an example of the fruits of Don Bosco's Preventive System.

The Provincial, Fr. Timothy Choi Won-Cheol – “the three brothers took the reverse way of the current world-order abandoning riches, fame, competition and appearance. This can only be chosen because of God whom we believe in and trust. This can only be completed when we all fully trust and follow his words. Even St. Peter was a good fisherman but he followed Jesus and cast the net into the deep water as HE said to. Therefore, we all also should devote ourselves in the way HE showed us”.

This event would be recorded as the last one for first vow carried at Nae-Ri community as the novice house is to be transfered to Dae-Jeon community soon. To cherish this holy event, their families and friends even from the Protestants whom they got to know during their formation attended the ceremony. Their happy cry to be an SDB made all people cry as well in feeling the existence of God.

Their next step is to keep on studying at Kwang-Ju community for further studies in Philosophy and Theology at the KwangJu Catholic University. We now cordially ask all to keep on praying for them in order to be true SDBs to carry on the mission given them.
