Lawaan, Cebu, The Philippines, 17 January 2024 -- The Aspirants of Don Bosco Formation Center-Lawaan had their Annual Retreat at Don Bosco Retreat House Mantalongon, Dalaguete, Cebu from January 11-13, 2024. The retreat was in the form of a Youth Encounter using the Virac Model, which was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Vince Michael Sabal, SDB, Bro. Vanjo Gila, SDB, and Mr. Eduardo Empelis Jr.
In this retreat, the aspirants were given a time not only to discover themselves personally, but it also allowed them to encounter one another in a deeper sense. The sessions were composed of reflective questions, sharing in groups, and giving affirmations to each other. This was also a special moment to encounter God more personally during meditation and the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Eucharist. With a nice natural ambiance and cool breeze, the environment of the Retreat House in Mantalongon was very conducive for retreating and spending moments of silence.
