Parañaque City, the Philippines, 19 October 2023 – Twelve (12) of the brothers of Seminaryo ng Don Bosco were instituted to the Sacred Ministry of Lectors and nine (9) to the Sacred Ministry of Acolytes in the 6:30 pm Eucharistic Celebration presided by the Provincial Superior of Philippines-North Province; Rev. Fr. Gerardo Martin, SDB, last October 18, 2023 at the Seminaryo ng Don Bosco Chapel.
Fr. Provincial highlighted in his homily the beauty and essence of the institution to the Sacred Ministries as a form of service that a chosen person renders to God, the Church, and the Community. He exhorted the candidates to remember this every time they proclaim the Word and assist in celebrating the Eucharist.
The Solemn Mass was also attended by the Sandor Salesian Brothers community, who also graced the agape dinner afterward. The Sacred Ministries of Lectors and Acolytes are part of our theology students' continuous formation and preparation for the Sacred Orders.
We pray for these newly instituted lectors and acolytes as they faithfully persevere in their formation to the Salesian priesthood.
