Caubong – HCM City, Vietnam, 3 June 2023 -- Every year, after the great celebration of Mary Help of Christians (May 24), the Salesian Province of Don Bosco Vietnam organizes an entrance exam for candidates who will enter the Prenovitiate House at Dominic Savio Cau Bong Community. The candidates include final year aspirants who are eligible to become candidates for the exam, such as: those graduating from a university, participating in aspirants activities for at least two years in one of the communities: Ben Cat, Xuan Hiep, Da Lat, Can Tho and the Northern Province. They are from Catholic families in the dioceses and especially have the desire to commit themselves to the Salesian vocation to serve poor abandoned young people following the example of Saint John Bosco.
This year, there are 19 Candidates who sat for the exam on 29 May. At 7:45 a.m., Father Joseph Nguyen Viet Quang Minh, head of the Youth Ministry Department, opened the exam room and asked the Holy Spirit to open the hearts and minds of the candidates.
The exams were all completed in a day. In the morning they did the Catechism and Salesian subjects, in the afternoon they took the English test. At the end of the entrance exam day, the candidates participated in a football match with those who are currently in the Pre-Practice stage.
