       Dili, Timor-Leste, 16 February 2023 -- The Post-Novitiate Community in the TLS Vice-Province is ready for the 2023 academic year. Fr. João Roque, SDB has just begun his term as Rector of this largest community in the Vice-Province.

       Fr. Roque with his solid team of formators are ready to accompany these young Salesians who are pursuing their philosophical and pedagogical studies at the Philosophical Institute of St. Francis de Sales.

       For this new academic year, there are 17 confreres in the first year, 11 in the second year, 12 in the third year and 12 in the fourth year. Hence, there are 52 Clerics and Brothers together with 7 formators.

       Among the formators team, there are 3 great missionaries mainly Fr. José Vattaparambil, SDB, Fr. Manuel Fraile, SDB and Fr. José San Juan, SDB. These 3 great missionaries are the living Salesian Library among the young Salesians in the Post-Novitiate Community. Hope that their presence will attract missionary vocation to these New and Young Salesian today and in the near future.

       Aside from their philosophical and pedagogical studies, the students are also doing their weekend apostolate in different places in Dili. Some are doing the oratory in the school, this is a kind of campus ministry for the students in a very simple way.

       Let us pray for these young men who are willing to sacrifice their lives following Jesus radically in this trying time. May Our Lady Help of Christians and Our Father and founder St. John Bosco protect their vocation and bring it to its fulfilment according to God’s will.
