EAO Delegates meeting for the Youth Ministry and Missions

Seoul, Korea, November 11, 2015 - Fr. Guillermo Basanes, the Councilor for the Missions presided the Morning Eucharist on November 11, 2015 for the joint meeting of provincial delegates of Youth Ministry and Missionary Animation in the EAO region. The Eucharist in the 4th floor Chapel in the Seoul SDB provincial house was animated by the China province and four novices of Korea. Also Fr. Fabio Attard, Councilor for the Youth Ministry, Fr. Vaclav, EAO Regional Councilor and two provincials of Korea and Myanmar were present.
During his homily Fr. Guillermo showed his personal English copy of the SDB Constitutions, that is a gift received in South Africa - Ennersdale during his first visit to AFM Viceprovince as the Regional Councilor for the Africa - Madagascar Region. This Constitutions belonged to the late Fr. Collins, RIP who was killed few years ago.
The Missions Councilor showed and pointed at the picture of the first Salesian missionary expedition on 11th November 1875 with Fr. John Cagliero receiving the Constitutions from Don Bosco. This historical picture is a point of reference for all Salesians and especially for Salesian missionaries, invites us to give thanks for the 11.000 Salesian missionaries until our days and invites us to rekindle our missionary zeal in each community.
