Family movement in Thailand

By Fr. John Tamayo, SDB

Huahin, Thailand, 16 September 2018 -- The Family Movement started in St. Joseph Parish, Banpong Ratburi in 1981. Fr. John Ulliano, SDB started a seminar for 7 couples of the Parish. From then on, it grew to a movement in order to renew the families.

For 36 years, the seminar for the family renewal has blossomed in all the 10 Diocese of Thailand. Every Diocese has its own Center for the Family Renewal with Priests and families involved.

This year, they decided to gather in St. Theresa Church, Huahin for the yearly Convention. Bishop Prathan welcomed all the 370 delegates. It was a 3 day sharing of Family Apostolate in the 10 Diocese of Thailand. All in all from a seed of 7 couples, now 16500 couples have participated in the Family Renewal Movement all over Thailand.
