Cambodia Delegation sharing
Phnom Penh, Cambodia, 29 April 2017 -- We are happy to share our situation to the EAO Regional Congress with participation of three ASC members from Cambodia.
Local Center ASC Mamma Margaret Phnom Penh with 19 promised members and 2 aspirants. In the last 3 years: 3 new promised members and monthly initial formation; two main projects- assistance to the oratory and assistance to the Don Bosco Children Fund Apostolate.
In Cambodia with a very small Catholic population we have the Salesian Cooperators are Catholics with a promise and associate members who are not Catholics, we call them “Mission Partners”.
Since the first group of 4 Salesian Cooperators made their promise in 2008 at Tuol Kork first Salesian House in Cambodia, the ASC Group 'Mamma Margaret' is now active in Phnom Penh with 19 promised members (Catholic members) and 16 mission partners (non-catholic members) under the guidance of local SDB Delegate, Fr. Leo Ochoa, SDB and Fr. Kai Thmey, ASC Coordinator.
All professed members were officially registered at Don Bosco Church, New Pechaburi Road, Bangkok, Thailand on 14th October 2011 in solidarity with the ASC members of the THA Salesian Province with their were signed by Fr. Paul Prasert Somgam, SDB, Provincial and Mr. Wichai Srisura, ASC provincial coordinator.
