MADRAS 8th Nov:- Fr.Stephen Bernard SDB, aged 70, of the Madras Province was tragically drowned on the evening of 7th November. He was crossing a stream in spate with his scooter with also a small boy sitting behind him. He fell off a narrow bridge into the deep and running water and could not get out of it. The boy swam ashore and was trying his best to pull him out. But hecou ld not manage it as he was only a boy of 11 or 12.
