Sr. Runita Borja, new Councillor for Youth Ministry
after two visiting councillors from EAO
[Sr. Paola Battagliola, former provincial of ITM (TIN - FMA) and
Sr. Inoue Maria Assunta, former provincial of GIA]

Sr. Runita G. Borja has been appointed as new Councillor for Youth Ministry by Mother Yvonne with the consent of her Council and in accordance with Art. 134 of the FMA Constitutions “the substitution, until the next General Chapter, of a General Councillor who has died or who is permanently prevented from attending to her duties.” Mother Yvonne has accepted the renunciation for health reason of Sr. Maria Teresa Cocco as Councillor for Youth Ministry who was elected in the General Chapter XXIII.

Sr. Runita was born on June 5, 1966 in Manila, Philippines and made her first religious profession on May 23, 1992.  After serving in the province as religion teacher and provincial coordinator for youth ministry, she took her master’s degree in Youth Ministry atUniversità Pontificia Salesiana in Rome. In 2004, she started giving her active collaboration in the Youth Ministry Sector in the Generalate giving her best contribution in the reflection and also in the animation of many provinces. Last year, she joined the province of Cambodia-Myanmar as missionary sent by Mother Yvonne.

Let us thank Sr. Maria Teresa Cocco for her serene acceptance of the will of the Father and together with her let us welcome with faith “God’s surprises.” We assure her of our prayers and we entrust the new mission of Sr. Runita to Mary Help of Christians and to Don Bosco in this year of the bicentenary of his birth.
