"An old friend of the famous team" - and a request

GIZO: 26 March 2012
--  Bishop Capelli is looking for some email addresses, or in particular, Fr Franco Uras' email, if anyone should have it. The recent article on Uras reminded him of something.... (and if you have the email address, could you send it to lcapelli@solomon.com.sb please?). Our bishop goes on to say:

"Fr Franco Uras is an 'old ' friend of the famous  team...

Seeing this 'old friend' I was reminded of our soccer team in Canlubang (we were the first batch of graduates from the College in 1969). Nobody could defeat this team in the Philippines.... including the national Team... they tried hard a good number of times...
This was our first uniform and the first time we were allowed to wear shorts... look at our 'soccer shoes'!

Standing you can recognize Fr GianLuigi Colombo, the goal keeper (the printing press man, now at Milan Youth Hostel).

Next to Him is Archbishop Panfilo, followed by Fr Zamora who died in Timor few years ago...(the fasted full back ever).

Franco Uras is the last standing on the right side... he was our  'stopper' in charge of blocking Panfilo in our internal games... which he always did with great determination followed by the angry protest of the now archbishop.

Naturally I was a team member too (or else why would I send you the picture?), the second down from the left. (The others have left but still keep in touch)

This picture has brawn [sic, but yes, it has 'brawn', of that there is no doubt; we know he means 'drawn', however] so many comments in Facebook... from so many young people who enjoyed soccer with us... some of whom they have been conquered into the vineyard as shepherds of don Bosco's Flock...

I knew it already, of course, but it's only now I realize the great importance of playing with the kids... so many were touched by our playing with them... they never forgot it...
most of the 3490 FB friends mention this....(naturally they refer to 30 years ago...before the 2 knee ligament operations of 81-91).

Even now, watching them play puts me and them on 'fire' again..."
