Don Bosco touches down in East Asia

Seoul: 30 October 2010 -- Don Bosco's casket landed in Korea on 25th October, to begin its pilgrimage throughout the  EAO Region. It finally arrived at provincial house on the 29th, Don Rua's feast day, after a long process of customs entry at Incheon airport. Thank the Lord it arrived before recent events in the airways and cargo departments! The official schedule for exposition starts on 1st November in the chapel at the provincial house, Seoul.
The arrival of Don Bosco coincides with the meeting of practical trainees in the province, meeting over three days. This is an annual meeting and on this occasion involves 11 young Salesians. Thanks to Don Bosco's early arrival, the young confreres have a good chance to enjoy his presence exclusively, possibly something of a first around the Salesian world.
On this feast day of Don Rua, commemorating the centenary of his death, the young Salesians were invited by the Provincial, Fr Stefano Nam, to meditate on their part of the 'we go halves' deal for poor youngsters and to renew their 'Da mihi animas cetera tolle' before the Casket, following Don Rua's good example.
