A GESTURE OF SOLIDARITY TO BISHOP BELO AND, THROUGH HIM, TO THE SALESIANS

AND THE PEOPLE OF EAST TIMOR

Bishop Belo arrives today (13th September) in Rome and will be staying there

for a week. He will be meeting the Pope and various political and religious

authorities.

Our Salesian News Agency in Rome (ANS) has made the following suggestion

that we take this opportunity to send him a message of solidarity from all

the provinces and from as many members of the Salesian Family as possible. A

huge response would, I'm sure, make it clear to Bishop Belo that the prayers

of the whole Salesian world are with him and his poor suffering people.
