Anisakan, Myanmar 6 June 2023 -- On 6 June at 06:30 a.m. at the shrine of MHC, we were blessed to witness the first religious profession of five young Salesians from the Vice-Province of Myanmar (MYM). They professed their religious vows in the presence of Fr Bosco Nyi Nyi SDB (the superior), Fr. Leo Mang SDB (the vicar), and Fr Saw John Shine Win SDB (the novice master), to lead a life of Obedience, Poverty, and Chastity. There were about 3 hundred participants. The newly professed are the following:
- Cl. Ambrose Zau La, SDB
- Cl. David Hlawn Lian Sang, SDB
- Cl. Justin Nyein Chan Aung, SDB
- Cl. Raymond Hkaung Dai, SDB, and
- Cl. Thomas Zau Dan Awng, SDB.
In his homily, Fr Bosco Nyi Nyi thanked the Lord, the five professed members, their parents, the novice master and the formators of the Novitiate community. He stressed the example of the love covenant which is made between the One who calls and the ones who responds. He added, “the religious life means to follow the Lord with the readiness of Samuel who is always ready to say “speak Lord, for your servant is listening! (1 Sam 3:10)’ By the religious profession, we surrender everything to the Lord and He will make use of us for His holy mission.”
At the end of the Mass, Cl. Thomas delivered words of gratitude on behalf of the group, thanking the Good Lord who calls them, and thanking their parents, the formators, the Salesians, and all those who support them in different ways. We pray that they may be able to love and serve the Lord with gladness till the end.
