Anisakan, Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar, 30 July 2022 -- On June 29 2022, at 7:00 a.m. (local time), the Vice-Province of Myanmar was blessed with another newly ordained Salesian Deacon, Henry Go Lam Thang, SDB, at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in the compound of Nazareth Apostolate School.
The ordination ceremony Mass was solemnly celebrated by His Excellency Archbishop Marco Tin Win from the Archdiocese of Mandalay and concelebrated by Fr. Bosco Zaya Aung, SDB (the superior), and some Salesian priests from nearby communities.
During his homily, the ordaining bishop stressed faithfulness in purity and the ministries of deacons in the Church. He also added that to be a Salesian means to have devotion and to entrust oneself to Mary Help of Christians for her maternal help. At the end of the Mass, the newly ordained deacon thanked the Good Lord for his Salesian Vocation, his parents and family members, the Salesian Congregations and all the participants.
Due to the critical political situation in the country, only a few relatives and some 160 young people could witness the event. We are really grateful to God for the gift of Dn. Henry, as we pray for the perseverance in his Salesian Vocation till the end.
