Hong Kong, China, 26 October 2023 -- On 23rd October 2023, one Salesian School and one Salesian parish, together with the Province (Vocation Office and Salesian Youth Ministry Office), participated in the Mission Sunday Celebration organized by The Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong in St. Paul’s Convent School in Hong Kong.
This was the first public invitation of the Hong Kong Diocese to the celebration of the Mission Sunday after the COVID-19 pandemic, with the theme, “Come and follow me, Go and give witness.” This Mission Sunday Gathering was the climax of a serious celebrative event organized by the diocese. The day is combined with a carnival and mass by the end.
Catholic schools, parishes, organizations, and various committees of the diocese set up their booths on the school campus. Our representatives Tang King Po College, St. Anthony’s Parish, and Salesians of Don Bosco China Province are among them.
Salesian Cooperators, parishioners, students, and Salesian youth of different Salesian Family members are the leading force in running the three booths. They drew young people and families to come in by offering games, prizes, and their joyful spirit.
The Provincial House of the CIN is in the territory of the Hong Kong Diocese. Each time the Salesians work with the diocese in mission activities, it reflects the Salesian sense of the Church, as it says in Article 31 of Constitutions of the Society of St. Francis de Sales, “Our mission is a sharing in that of the Church, which brings about the saving design of God, the coming of the Kingdom, by bringing to them the message of the Gospel.”
