Lahore, Pakistan, 3 February 2024 -- On Friday, 12 January, the staff of the Don Bosco Lahore Technical and Youth Centre gathered to prepare for the celebration of Don Bosco. Activities were planned, and tasks were assigned.
On Saturday the 20th, all the students of the School and Technical Centre gathered in the Assembly Hall to watch the film about Don Bosco.
On Monday the 22nd, students and teachers gathered on the sports field for the start of the Novena of Don Bosco. Each day, a teacher or a member of the Salesian Family presented an aspect of Don Bosco's life in a speech.
On Monday the 29th, after the Novena, the Don Bosco Olympics began, featuring a series of outdoor games in honor of Don Bosco. The award ceremony concluded at 1:30 pm, and boys and girls participated with great enthusiasm.
On Wednesday the 31st, the solemn celebrations of Don Bosco's feast began with the Holy Mass at 10:30 am, presided over by the Bishop of Hyderabad, His Excellency Samson Sukardin. Besides the confreres from Quetta, staff, teachers, students, and members of the Salesian Family in Lahore, some representatives of the local clergy of the Archdiocese and the sisters from various religious congregations also participated.
The Holy Mass was followed by a performance prepared by the students and a fitting lunch.
