TLS Vice-Province

Fuiloro, Timor-Leste, 15 August 2019 -- It is the first time in the history of TLS Vice-Province that we have had 7 deacons ordained as priests of the Lord during the celebration of the Solemnity of the Assumption held in Fuiloro.
The Bishop of Baucau, His Excellency, Most Rev. Basílio do Nascimento, as ordaining prelate, presided at the Eucharistic celebration and ordained the 7 deacons into the priesthood. The solemn celebration involved some70 priests both religious and diocesan, the Provincial Superiors of Portugal and Timor Leste, representatives from the Australian Province and Philippines North Province, religious sisters and numerous lay faithful. The estimated attendance was around ten thousand people.
These 7 deacons after doing their theological studies in different centers (Portugal, Philippines and Australia), have returned to the mother province for their priestly ordination and their thanksgiving Masses afterward.
Some of these newly ordained priests will be going back to Portugal and Australia for their next mission, meanwhile others will serve in the TLS Vice-Province.
