ADMA admission day in Timor brings total to 1180

FATUMACA: 15th May 2007 -- On the 13th of May 2007, Sixth Sunday of Easter and the day commemorating Our Lady of Fatima, as is already customary in Timor, new members were accepted into the Association of Mary Help of Christians. 33 men and women made their promise of fidelity to their commitments as new members of ADMA, and 3 officers were installed. The ceremony was held in the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Fatumaca, Baucau, East Timor. Three hundred other members of this branch of the  Salesian Family witnessed the affair within the Eucharistic Celebration which was presided over by the Provincial Delegate for the Salesian Family in the Vice-Province of Indonesia-Timor (ITM), Fr. Manuel Fraile. In his homily inspired by the Sunday Gospel, Fr. Manuel urged especially the new members of ADMA to be like the apostles of Christ who showed their love for Him because of their obedience and faithfulness to His Word. Even if the situation was not yet very peaceful because of the aftermath of the election process, many members came just the same. The National Delegate for ADMA, Fr. Ramoncito Padilla, exhorted all of them to adhere to their personal commitments so that they may really be Don Bosco's living monument to Mary Help of Christians in East Timor.

In East Timor there are now 1180 ADMA members committed to living and spreading devotion to Mary Help of Christians and at the same time emphasizing in their apostolate the importance of the liturgy and the sacrament of reconciliation. They are also very active in praying,  fostering and helping vocations in the Church, especially for the Salesian Family using every means possible. With more convinced members, they will surely be a mighty force for the Church in East Timor, working for the greater glory of God and the salvation of souls.
