Hua Hin, Thailand, 30 October 2023 -- The Salesian Province of Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos organized the annual seminar on the theme of "Directions of Youth Pastoral Ministry." 133 Salesians, members of the Salesian family, came to join the seminar animated by Fr. Miguel Ángel GARCÍA MORCUENDE, SDB, Salesian Councilor for Youth Ministry. The seminar was divided into two batches. The first was held at Don Bosco Home - Bangkok from 27-28 October 2023, with 60 participants. The second batch was held at the Salesian Retreat House in Huahin from 29-30 October 2023, with 73 participants.
The speaker began the seminar by presenting an overview of Salesian Pastoral Work for the young. He then gave guidelines for doing this pastoral work in various forms, such as Pastoral Work in Schools, Youth Pastoral Work and The Family, Pastoral Work in Churches entrusted to the Salesians, and Educating the Young to Love.
The participants reflected on the work they had been doing and shared their experiences with each other. The seminar gave the Salesians and the members of the Salesian family a more precise direction in their pastoral work. This also helped increase their morale so that they could be symbols and bearers of love for the poor and abandoned youth in society.
Finally, the speaker gave a message to all members of the Salesian family: "All of us are the faces, the voices, and the book of the new covenant opened for the young. They can read the Gospel through the words, the witnessing, and the works we do for them. Let us be bearers of God's love to the youth of Thailand, Cambodia, and PDR Laos."
