New Testament Reflections on Mission
By THA SC
Hua Hin, Thailand, 16 October 2019 -- The Salesian Province of Thailand organized a seminar on the theme: "WITNESSES TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH" - New Testament Reflections on Mission, in two batches - the first batch from the 14-16 October 2019 and the second batch from the 17-19 October 2019. The seminar was honoured by the expertise of Rev. Father Francis Moloney, SDB, a well-know biblical scholar and professor, from the Salesian Province of Australia and the Pacific. This was held at the Salesian Retreat House in Hua Hin, Prachuabkhirikhan Province. The two groups of participants were from the Salesians themselves, the members of the Salesian Family, religious from various congregations, diocesan clergy and some lay partners. All-in-all there were 102 participants.
Throughout the three days of conferences, the participants reflected on being missionaries under the light of the New Testament writings. This theme has been what Pope Francis has told the faithful of the world to reflect on especially in this year when he declared the month of October as the 'extraordinary month of the mission', which coincides with the centennial celebration of the exhortation "Maximum Illud" of the late Pope Benedict XV.
The seminar has succeeded in creating among the participants the renewed enthusiasm to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly and devotedly to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to all those around them
