Let's prepare well the 150th anniversary of Mary Help of Christian Basilica
Turin, Italy, 5 May 2018 -- Present celebrations (2017-2018) of the 150th anniversary of the inauguration and consecration of Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin are coming to the main date - June 8, 2018. Don Bosco built his Basilica in Valdocco between 1863-1868 and it was consecrated on June 8, 1868.
To mark this important anniversary, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, with the support of the Social Communication sector, has launched an initiative to unite the whole Salesian Family in prayer around Mary.
The "Global" Novena to Mary Help of Christians in view of the her Solemnity (May 24) will be animated through well prepared video clips, available in the next few days on the internet.
Each day (May 15-23) the Novena includes: (1) the presentation of the daily theme by the Rector Major; (2) the narration of one of Don Bosco's dreams about Virgin Mary; (3) Rector Major's commentary on the dream; (4) A brief testimony of one Salesian Family member; (5) concluding invocations.
The video clips are produced thanks to the collaboration of the IME (Napoli - Italia) Social Communication team, are short and simple to animate the traditional 'Good Morning" or "Good Night" in our Salesian houses, parishes, oratories, youth centers, boarding houses or within the groups of the Salesian Family.
The Novena video clips will be available since May 10, 2018 on the internet: the sdb.org site, the ANS news page on Flickr and the ANS channel on YouTube. Starting May 14, they will be uploaded daily on the ANS website. Those wishing to provide for their translation into other languages may request the materials from ANS's editors. On ANS Channel there is already a video presentation of the novena.
