Holy Childhood camp in Timor Leste
Laga, Timor Leste, 20 April 2018 -- A regular formation camp for 200 children and youth of Holy Childhood (Infancia missionaria & Adolescencia missionaria) of Timor Leste FMA sisters settings was conducted for last two days and concluded with the send-off Eucharistic celebration in the Laga FMA Orphanage (parish of St John Bosco, Laga, Baucau diocese).
The 200 participants are members of Holy Childhood coming from all FMA settings in Timor Leste, accompanied by 12 FMA sisters from Dili, Balide, Fuiloro, Laga, Baucau and Venilale. At this occasion the small missionaries were motivated by the Gospel about the multiplication of bread: in the hands of Jesus even five loaves and two fishes can feed more than 5000 people!
Boys and girls from Primary and Secondary schools offered during the conclusion Eucharist presided by Fr. Klement and Fr. Rui Gomes (new SDB rector of Laga community) their concrete missionary resolutions in the water ceramic jar. Pray for disadvantaged friends, small sacrifice and acts of mercy are expression of their missionary commitment.
The Holy Childhood (Infancia & Adolescencia missionaria) is one of the SYM groups animated in all FMA houses around Timor Leste. In his homily the EAO regional councilor challenged all participants with daily listening to Jesus through the Bible reading. So every young missionary may transform his / her own life and whisper the Gospel through a humble and attractive life model and invitation like deacon Philip on the road with the Ethiopian official.
We pray that in each of the SDB and FMA house the young people would have a chance to be involved in concrete missionary service in their own place through missionary groups, through the volunteer VIDES (FMA) or other Salesian volunteer organization, that are not yet present in Timor Leste now!
