Summer Youth School of Faith
Naeri, Korea, 4 August 2017 -- Also this year the nation wide famous 'Salesian Summer School of Faith' is going on in the sea shore campsite of Naeri (Tae An, Chung Cheong Nam Province) about 200 km from Seoul.
As every year there is a strong team of young Salesian confreres, prenovices and aspirants together with few FMA sister giving their best for the Catholic youth coming every 3 days from many different parishes around the country.
The faith dynamics of 3 days and 2 nights are carefully balanced between community building, fun, recreation and faith experience including also confession and final Send Off Eucharistic celebrations. About 1800 students are taking part in these days in the 2017 summer camp or school of faith.
The 2017 theme 'You are the light of the World' (Mt 5,14) aims at strengthening the faith of young disciples - missionaries, who are for the whole school year under strong pressure of the Korean competitive school environment. For many of these young boys and girls this is also the first encounter with Don Bosco and his family. Eventually some of the participants continue their faith and vocation journey through the regular vocation monthly "Come and see". The attraction of the faith school experience and personal contact with many young religious and aspirants is indeed great!
