Seminar of Animation and Missionary Training:

Initial Proclamation and the Salesian Mission

By Missions Sector

RMG, 5 July 2017 -- Six years after the previous Salesian Family Mission Study Days in 2011 about 'The Salesian Mission and the Initial Proclamation of Jesus Christ in East Asia' again 45 Salesians SDB and 30+ FMA Sisters will gather again in Sampran for a similar seminar. Since 1989 this is already the sixth regional meeting prepared together by the SDB and FMA Missions Sectors. This time the participants are coming from both EAO Region and South Asia Region to Sampran (THA) next August 13-20.

The two-fold event focused on the Initial Proclamation of Jesus and on the Missionary Animation and Training requires a good preparation of all participants. All SDB and FMA are asked to read and study the working paper 'Initial Proclamation Today' (possible download from the BOSCOLINK). This working tool is a summary of long journey with eight global and continental Study Days on the 'Initial Proclamation of Jesus from 2010 until 2015 organized and participated by the SDB and FMA.

Although only few chosen confreres, most of them are the Provincial Delegates for Missionary Animation, we recommend the Working Document on Initial Proclamation for reading and study to all EAO Salesian Family members. Initial Proclamation reality, inner dynamics, motivations and different ways are easy accessible in the seven short chapters of the document: What is Initial Proclamation? - In the New Testament, in Christian context, Theological and Pastoral Reflection on Initial Proclamation, Kerygma and Initial Proclamation - Witness of Life and of Charity as Initial Proclamation - Initial Proclamation and the Salesian Charism.

Probably the most innovative approach of this short summary is the 'Initial Proclamation as "Falling in love". Good reading in order to foster our missionary spirit and outlook in daily life!
