HCM City, Vietnam, 2 April 2017 -- In the beautiful Sunday morning of the 2nd of April, 2017, the Provincial, Fr. Joseph Nguyen van Quang SDB and some members of his Council, together with some Salesian priests and lay brothers, celebrated a simple ceremony to mark the laying foundation of their new provincial house.
In the words of the Provincial, as the construction was allowed and supported by the Superiors, “ The province is growing in its multiple services to the poor youth, it is called to live and work in a more professional manner of services with efficiency and sustainability, a new center with various offices and equipment is actually in need.”
He expects that the New Provincial House will be the Home for all Salesians in the Province. From this, the animation and governance will be done in communion and solidarity with the distinctive family spirit.
Moreover, together with lay partners who will work in the Center, the new Center is expected to be the model for local communities to get lay people more involved in our Salesian missions, tapping into the inexhaustible resources that lay people are carrying with themselves.
