The delegates of the VIE PC 2016 at the Lady of Lavang Parish

Commitment to be real mystics, prophets of fraternity and servants of the young

Dalat, Vietnam, April 22, 2016. It was the last day of VIE Provincial Chapter (PC) 2016 after 10 full days of sharing the atmosphere of fraternity. All of us tried to work hard with the help of our Mary, Mother of God and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to carry out a real conversion throughout the whole province. We revised the implementation of General Chapter (GC27), in reference with the letter of Rector Major sent to VIE province to make an overall conversion, both radically and sincerely.

During the last day, we concluded the formal document of PC 2016 by voting the written documents. We were aware the process of executing on the important task we would have to do in the coming years.

During the 4 last days, we were happy with the presence of accompaniment of His Peter Nguyen Van De SDB, the Bishop of Thai Binh diocese. He is also the former Superior of VIE province. So, he has many precious experiences to accompany with the members of VIE PC 2016.

One another important task of PC 2016 was to reshape the salesian presences in our province. We had many confreres working in missionary places and in parishes, but had not been sufficient yet to the requiments of salesian criteria. So, the PC 2016 reconfirmed the criteria to revise our communities and presences together with the works therein.

The VIE PC 2016 ended with the thanksgiving Mass presided by His Excellence Peter Nguyen Van De SDB. The participants felt deeply the impact of God’s grace, also the help of Our Lady. We hoped that the VIE PC 2016 would open a new pentecoste for all confreres so that they could live fully the salesian vocation to be real mystics, real prophets of fraternity and real servant of the young.
