Batangas, Philippines, 7 March 2016 - The first day of the East-Asia Oceania (EAO) Provincial Superiors and Delegate Superiors Meeting.

The day opened with the 6:30 morning meditation and the 7:00am Holy Mass. Fr. Vaclav Klement, SDB, the EAO Regional Superior was the main celebrant.

After a hearty breakfast, everybody gathered inside Retreat House Conference Room for the 9:00am opening session – a spiritual recollection. It began with each one introducing himself to the assembly. The Rector Major, Fr. Angel Fernandez Artime, SDB, gave a brief talk that led everyone to spend the rest of the morning in silent recollection. The community of Don Bosco Batulao availed themselves for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

At 2:30pm, everyone gathered again in the conference hall for the second session. The Rector Major talked to the assembly with Fr. Nestor Impelido, SDB as his translator. He gave a very encouraging talk on animating and governing the Province. Every now and then, the Rector Major opened the floor for a free exchange of ideas, reactions, reflections, and questions. The afternoon session lasted until 5:30pm with a short break in between.

After the 6:00pm vespers, Fr. Paul Bicomong, SDB, the FIN Provincial, gave his Good Night Talk. He personally thanked the Rector Major for visiting the FIN Province that truly inspired all the confreres to be faithful sons of Don Bosco. He also shared the possibility of having Malaysia as the FIN Province’s new mission area.

The day ended with the praying of the Holy Rosary after dinner.
