By Salesian Past Pupils - Battambang, Cambodia

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, 28 February 2016 - During the wonderful evening cultural presentation of each Salesian family education center in Cambodia (SDB, FMA, SIHM sister with all their Past Pupils) the Rector Major experienced the 'melting pot' of cultures of Cambodia, with the influence from traditional ancient and rural Khmer culture, through India, Thai and K-Pop influence. The well chosen representatives of Don Bosco Cambodia young people (about 1200) present for the occasion revealed the immense energy and potential of Cambodia youth.

In the Apostolic Prefecture of Battambang there are many Salesian Family institutions (SDB, FMA, SIHM and two Salesian schools entirely entrusted to our Lay Mission Partners). On behalf of Battambang Salesian Youth one student expressed their feelings:

Dear Fr. Angel, Brother and Sisters and Friends!

Don Bosco said to his first mission partners:

I want a family, to become more stable and united, even when I'm gone, I will never die if you become the Don Bosco's of tomorrow

In his dreams, he knew we could always find the way and he always believed in the young, he gave his beautiful life for them, for us...

Thank you Dear Father Angel, for being Don Bosco today, thank you because you believe in us!

You believe that we will be the future of Cambodia.

A Cambodia that we all dream of - full of hope, justice and honesty.

You believe that we can do whatever we dream of, if we fight for it!

Because we know, we are not alone: Jesus and our Blessed Mother walk with us and guides our way!
