Ordinations  to be thankful for, to pray for: a complete roundup

EAO: 11th June 2006 --  Ordinations to diaconate and priesthood for students from various parts of the East Asia-Oceania Region are in full swing at this stage of the year.  A number have already occurred, some are yet to come.  A complete (hopefully) list follows:
A reminder that earlier in the year, on January 7th, Mika Luamanuvae and Sefo Mulipola were ordained priests in Apia, Samoa.  In the same month, on 14th in Thailand, Fr. Joseph Manachai and Fr Joseph Kriengsak, were ordained. On 31st January in the SOuthern Philippines, Fr Rex Cabilledo was ordained by Bishop Patrick Buzon.
May 20th saw the priestly ordination of Barnaba Le an Phong - from Vietnam, and who will be returning there in due course.  He was ordained in Florence by the auxiliary bishop of that city, Bishop Claudio Maniaco.
On 8th June, at the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, Jerusalem, Francis Tran Cong Phan, missionary to PNG-SI, was ordained priest by the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Michel Sabbah.  His companion at Ratisboone, John Baptist Anh Nguyen Tuan who has also been a missionary in PNG-SI, will be ordained priest in Atlanta, USA, on 1st July.  Dayan Domisianus Toar Parengkuan, Indonesia (ITM), was ordained deacon by the Patriarch at St. Peter's in Gallicantu the same day.
Further diaconate ordinations took place yesterday and today: yesterday in Turin, Cardinal Severino Poletto ordained Joseph Nguyen Ngoc Vinh and Joseph Vu Trang Tai.  They will both return to Vietnam in due course.  Today in Messina, the auxiliary bishop of that city, Francesco Montenegro, ordains four members of the ITM vice porovince as deacons: Gui do Carmo Da Silva from East Timor, Silvano De Oliveira, Domingos C. Gonzaga Dos Santos, both of East Timor, and Tarsisius Trianto from Indonesia.  The four are being ordained in St. Dominic Savio church belonging to the Salesians.
June 17th sees a further batch of diaconate ordinations in Rome, the ordaining prelate being Bishop Carlo Belo: two more members of ITM - Agung Herybertus from Indonesia and Helio Cabral from East Timor.  They will be ordained in the Basilica of Sacro Cuore.
June 24th is ordination day for several Salesians in Hong Kong and Seoul. In the former, HK, Martin Yip Tai-Ho, Thomas Hsueh Ian-Wen and Albert Ho Ka-Fai will be ordained priests by Cardinal Joseph Zen in the Cathedral there.  In the latter, Seoul, Bishop Lucas Kim, auxiliary in Seoul, will ordain Bosco Park Hae Song and Bonaventure Kim Seon Oh to the priesthood in the morning, and in the afternoon will ordain Choi Kwang Seob (Paul), Yang Chong Shik (Marc) and Lee Chun Seok (Bernard) as deacons.
Then it becomes Thailand's turn - at St. Joseph's Parish in Banpong, three Thai students who have studied at the UPS, Anthony Boonlert, Andrew Ekasit and Anthony Paradorn, will be ordained priests on 29th July.
September will see the priestly ordination of Pietro Shin Mishima of Japan, in Tokyo.  We are also aware of a number of ordinations to take place in Vietnam but do not have precise details of names, places and dates.  Arrangements there require some delicate but ultimately fruitful discussions with various levels of officialdom.
While austraLasia may make separate brief mention of a number of these events as they occur, it takes this major opportunity mid-point in the 2006 'EAO 'batch' to wish all ordinands the continuous blessing of God and a request that its readers may remember them prayerfully into the future as they begin their ministry
