Seoul, Korea, 12 November 2016 -- The Salesians of Don Bosco in Korea have hosted hundreds of young people for the 14th Don Bosco rock festival, a group sound competition for secondary and high school students. The festival underwent two steps. In last June was the two days  preliminary round where  42 groups participated and among which 21 were qualified. And five months later, on November 12 was held the final contest.

The Rock Festival started at 1:00pm where 250 young people in 20 teams arrived from different parts of the country and ended at 5:30pm.

“We are grateful to have this opportunity to express our passion for music and group sound that is not easy to find anywhere else where we can express freely of our spontaneity. And I really liked the fact that we can meet friends who love music like me in one place. So I can gain experience on the stage in front of a big audience, presenting our music.” Listening to the word of a guy who brought his musical team from Inchon City, we can guess what is the thirst feeling of today's young people.

“I did not know that there are such high levels of music! Another is truly impressive to see young people enjoying each other without a thought of competition. I believe that we Salesians must pay more attention to better accompany our young people sharing their joy in where they are.” The word of Fr. Simon Baek, the representative of the jury of the Festival.

The 'Blaster-3' group, a team composed by the 2nd year students of 'Dunchon Junior High School’ in Seoul, which had played “beautiful nights” won the Grand Prix of the 14th DBYRF.
