EAO Fundraising Workshop 2019

Hua Hin, Thailand, 28 August 2019 -- From26-30 August 2019, the SDB Missions Sector and the EAO Region, respectively led by Fr. MC George Menamparampil and Fr. Adriano Satura, organized a seminar-workshop on the topic of "Fundraising" at the Salesian Retreat House in Huahin, Prachuabkhirikhan Province. There are 35 participants, both Salesians and lay-collaborators, coming from the following: 3 from Cambodia, 4 from FIN, 2 from FIS, 2 from Indonesia, 2 from Mongolia, 1 from Myanmar, 2 from Papua New Guinea, 3 from Thailand, 3 from Timor Leste, 3 from Vietnam, 2 from China, 1 from Pakistan, 1 from Sri Lanka, 2 from India, 1 from Peru, 1 from Africa, 1 from Slovakia, 1 from Rome.


This Workshop on Sustainability: Supercharge Your Fund Raising! seeks to:

  • Provide resource generation skills to upcoming Mission Offices (MOs) and Planning and Development Offices (PDOs);
  • Re-tool existing MOs/PDOs with fund raising capabilities;
  • Follow through on the skills provided with a 30-day and one-year game plan;
  • Nurture the solidarity among Salesian Provinces in the EAO Region and beyond.

On 26 August 2019, the first day of the seminar-workshop, Fr. John Bosco Dheparat Pitisant, the Provincial Superior of Salesian Thailand, graced the occasion by presiding at the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. At the opening proper, the participants were greeted by Fr. Angel Artime, the Rector Major, and Fr. Vaclav Klement, the Regional Superior of EAO, through a video-clip. Then Fr. Dheparat Pitisant welcomed officially all the participants: "We are happy to welcome you all to the house of Don Bosco, which is also our house. May you all feel that this is our house. The Thai Province is happy to have a part in supporting this seminar-workshop. In the past, we have received much help from various places. Now it is time to "give back", generously as well. May this seminar proceed smoothly and achieve its goals..." From there, the seminar-workshop moved on according to the programme laid out.
