Seoul, Korea, 30 November 2020 -- The annual promise of new members was celebrated with the utmost wholehearted and careful preparation of the whole Provincial Council of Salesian Cooperators in Korea. During the Eucharist celebrated at 2 PM on the first Advent Sunday, 29 November 2020 eight new members made their promise: Otilia Kim, Stefania Kim, Josephine Shin, Veronica Yoon, Juliana Cheong, Elisabeth Cheong, Gregorio Huyn and Joseph Hong.
The solemn Eucharist in the SDB provincial house (7th floor chapel) was celebrated by the SDB Provincial Fr. Timothy Choi, concelebrated by Fr Park Bosco, provincial delegate ASC and other four Salesian priests. The whole ASC provincial council and few other members were present too, after a very careful preparation due to the rather strict Korean Covid pandemic restrictions. However the family spirit was strongly felt by all participants of this Promise Eucharist.
At the same time, the recently appointed SDB provincial delegate to the Salesian Cooperators, Fr. Bosco Park Hae-sung, was able to share his first greetings on the ASC provincial website for this occasion, start of Advent season. Fr Bosco expressed his joy to be called for the accompaniment of the large ASC province and ponders on the message of Pope Francis during his Korean visit (2014) about 'Hope' and 'Memory'.
We congratulate the Korean Salesian Cooperators for their new family members and pray also for their new provincial SDB delegate, to be truly faithful to his task 'to assure the bond of secure and stable union' with the Salesian spirit and share the charismatic and spiritual experience of the Founder' (PAL, Statutes, 26).
