Salesian Family Saints at the spotlight

By Our Own Correspondent

RMG, 9 April 2018 -- The SDB Postulator General, Fr. Pier Luigi Cameroni presents the Second Salesian Holiness Seminar (Rome, April 10-14, 2018) through an attractive video clip (English version with subtitles) released just 3 days ago. Although only 100 participants, coming from 14 Salesian Family groups, most of them involved in their own provinces in the role of the Vice-postulator of specific cause of canonization. From the EAO region there will be members from Thailand, Japan and the Philippines.

The presence of the Rector Major, the intervention of SDB Cardinal Angelo Amato (Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Canonization), pilgrimage to the Vatican and Sacro Cuore in Rome and many world level expert contribution make this event very precious occasion and resource for the Salesian Family animation.

Last but the not the least, just today at noon time in Rome (Monday, April 9) will be released the Apostolic Exhortation Gaudete et Exsultate (Rejoice and be glad!) of Pope Francis “On the call to holiness in the contemporary world”. What coincidence! It's a wonderful sign, that our apostolic and spiritual family is well tuned within the Universal Church.

In most of our Salesian houses, schools or youth centers we find in the corridors, refectories or community rooms a variety of Salesian Family Holiness posters. The most recent edition was made public just on the occasion of the Salesian Holiness Seminar (version 2018). It's a simple instrument of reminding us about the holiness accessible to all!

Pope Francis is reminding us like St. Francis de Sales:

“Are you consecrated? - Be a saint by living out your donation and your ministry with joy,” he said. “Are you married? - Be a saint by loving and taking care of your husband or your wife, as Christ did for the Church. Are you an unmarried baptized person? - Be a saint by carrying out your work with honesty and competence and by offering time in the service of your brothers and sisters.”
