Aus Province Centre has moved!

MELBOURNE: 8th September '04 --  Within a matter of days, the old 'Provincial House' in the Melbourne suburb of Oakleigh, will be no more.  That is to say, the offices, dining room and parts of the old Moroney House, for those who have known this place atop Moroney's Hill for more than half a century, will be raised to the ground to make way for new housing lots.  The new 'Province Centre', as it is to be termed, has moved to Ascot Vale on the other side (the airport side) of the city, and though the move was earlier planned to be towards the end of July, the inevitable complications with building trades and the like have now meant that 8th September is a good birthday date!
The new Centre will provide a much clearer distinction between residential and work space, quite apart from other advantages of a purpose built building, which Oakleigh never was, as it had grown 'like Topsy'.  Province farewells were already made to Oakleigh last year in a moving moment of gathering from all over the Province.  It remains now, with the forthcoming visit of the Rector Major, to formally inaugurate the new Centre.
For those interested in the address of the new administrative Centre:
