It is used to refer to the quality of the Salesian mission as expressed in a community, but also in reference to individual roles e.g. the priest. Mission and ministry are distinguished -we talk about the pastoral quality or the mission as exercised in practice in a community or place, under the guidance of the 'pastors'.
