Ben Cat HCM, Vietnam, 19 May 2022 -- The opening ceremony of the Don Bosco Summer 2022 Basketball Tournament took place in a joyful atmosphere at 16:30 pm on May 15, 2022, in the playground at Don Bosco Ben Cat Youth Center, Go Vap, Ho Chi Minh City.
Attending the opening ceremony were the presence of Father Joseph Nguyen Duc Tam - Rector of Ben Cat Community, Father Toma Vu Thanh Phong - who is in charge of the Youth Center, Mr. Tuan - Head of the arbitration team, and more than 300 players from 38 teams gathered to attend the opening ceremony.
First of all, the Father in charge of the Youth Center came up to share a few words about the meaning of the Tournament. Besides, he also did not forget to send the young people words of encouragement, and best wishes for them.
Next, there was the opening statement by Father Rector of the Community and a souvenir photo session of the teams. Before making his opening statement, he also gave a few words of introduction to the Salesian spirit for young people. Each playground, each sport match in Don Bosco's house has its own educational meaning and in general is towards unity in the spirit of family - unity with each other.
We hope that all young people not only come to play and compete, but most importantly feel the care from Salesians in the community.
