       Ayutthaya Province, Thailand, 14 January 2023 -- The brass band from Sarasit Phithayalai School, Banpong, participated in The 14th Thailand International Marching Competition 2022 - TIMC - The Royal Trophy League International Bands Competition of Thailand held at the Central Plaza Shopping Mall - Ayutthaya Hall in Ayutthaya from the 7-8 January 2023. At the end of the competition, the school received the championship trophy, Marching Show Band Category, High School Level.

       Before this, from 14-17 December 2022, Sarasit School won the championship, first place in the Marching Street Parade [Division 1] - Gold Medal, in the "Thailand World Music Championships" in Srisaket Province. The school garnered also 3 other medals in the following categories, namely:

  • 2nd woodwinds battle (professional class) - gold medal
  • 3rd Brass battle (professional class) - silver medal
  • 3rd indoor marching arts winds (independent class) - gold medal

       At present, the Marching Band of Sarasit School is composed of 47 high school students from 1-6 levels, three conductor and training teachers, namely, Mr. Sangsan Phan-saad, Mr. Thammarat Kham-amphai, Mr. Chaiwat Kaew-saad, with Fr. Camillo Chinawat Suvadinkul, the school manager. All this time, the school administrators encouraged and supported the students to enhance their musical talents which help calm the mind to be gentle according to the educative style of Don Bosco.

       By the way, the Sarasit School Marching Band was founded in 1981 and has received various awards in international competitions such as 1st place in the Division 2 category in 1998 at the World Marching Band Competition in London, England. World Champion in 2003 at the World Association of Marching Show Bands in Monsa, Italy.
