Quang Nap, Ninh Binh, Vietnam, 4 August 2022 -- Last Sunday morning, July 31, 2022, at Quang Nap parish, belonging to Don Bosco Quang Nap community, the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Society of the Parish jubilantly organized the 6th Don Bosco Summer Camp to summarize summer activities in 2022, and especially to celebrate the patronage and 11th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Society in the parish. This is a very special occasion that children and young people eagerly look forward to each year. It has almost become a traditional program in the pastoral life of the parish since the presence of the Don Bosco community in this place.
Right from the early morning, the children, young people and leaders gathered in front of the parish church hall to register their attendance, practice dancing to the theme song and be reminded of the rules of the camp. After settling down, the participants entered the camp gate, which was impressively decorated with the nameplate "DON BOSCO SOLIDARITY CAMP 2022" with the principles of the Eucharistic Youth: Holy Communion, Prayer, Sacrifice and Apostolate. Passing the camp gate, the participants are all challenged with the entrance ceremony that requires a courage not to be afraid of difficulties to overcome.
The children and young people had an exciting and meaningful camp day with different types of interesting games. The climax for the camp was the Thanksgiving Mass to conclude the summer, celebrate the patronage and the 11th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Society in the parish.
After the Mass, everyone had dinner together to share their joy. After that, there was a cultural program and ended with a sacred and meaningful fire program. Father Chaplain invited the participants in silence to look back on the day that had passed in the love and providence of God as Don Bosco still taught his youth to always trust and believe in God’s providence. Father Chaplain continued to lead them in spontaneous prayer about what they had done throughout the day so that each person could thank God for the blessings He had given, and apologize to God for what they had not really given effort, sacrifice. He invited everyone to join hands to build Quang Nap Eucharistic Youth Society, each day, promote and develop more. With that, the days of Don Bosco Summer Camp continue to have more and more times and Don Bosco’s education is also spread in this land.
