Visitation to Don Bosco Xuan Hiep Vocational Educative and Pastoral Community

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 12 November 2022 -- On Sunday, November 6, 2022, the aspirants of Don Bosco Xuan Hiep had the honor to welcome Father Miguel Angel Garcia Morcuende for a pastoral visit and offering Mass for their monthly retreat.

Celebrating Mass with Father Miguel, there were his secretary, Father Joseph Nguyen Kim Khanh, SDB - Vice Provincial, Father Joseph Le Ngoc Anh - Rector of Don Bosco Xuan Hiep community, Father Dominic Tran Quang Hien - in charge of aspirants, and the Salesian priests in the commnity. Attending the mass were some young confreres in theology and 65 aspirants of Don Bosco Xuan Hiep community.

In his homily, Fr. Angel invited the aspirants to learn from the Salesians’ example of daily lived holiness. Be a saint from the smallest things, always live the witness of being a good Christian, an exemplary citizen and a dedicated Salesian. As Don Bosco said: “To be a saint is to fulfill one’s duty with joy.” Father Angel’s presence in the Mass helped the aspirants feel the father’s care and love for them. The joy was doubled when Fr. Angel shared a family meal with community. In the atmosphere of family love, the aspirants welcomed Fr. Angel with a joyful dance.

At the end of the meal, Fr. Angel gave a profound and meaningful lesson to the aspirants. He was impressed by the youth, cheerfulness, bravery and dynamism of the aspirants in Vietnam. He invited them to always live joyfully, and to be enthusiastic in their study and apostolate.
