The 2016 is celebrated in the East Asia as the Monkey Year, and in the EAO region as the 110th birthday of the first Salesian presence in Macau with arrival of Fr. Luis Versiglia on Feb 13, 1906.


As every New Year Timetable also AD 2016 offers in the Congregation many occasions for common growth of the Salesian Charism thanks to the dynamics of mutual sharing and exchange.


The Salesian Preventive System is telling us that we can harvest from each of these occasions as much as we prepare them well ahead.


We are happy to welcome the Rector Major after GC27 for the first time in East Asia:

  • February 28-March 4 in THA province (Cambodia delegation and Laos)
  • March 5-6 in FIN province (Northern Philippines)
  • March 9-10 in FIS province (Southern Philippines)
  • October 18-22 in MYM vice-province (Myanmar)
  • October 13-28 in FIS province (Pak. Delegation)

We are happy to welcome the Rector Major in the annual meeting of the provincials and delegation superiors in Manila-Batulao (March 7-11)


We are happy to share the presence and wisdom of all General Councilor for the sectors:

  • Mar 1-3 in MYM (Provincial Economers with Br. Jean Paul Muller)
  • Mar 7-11 in FIN (Provincials with the Formation, Youth Ministry, Social Com. Councilor)
  • Nov 11-13 in FIN (Formation delegates with the Formation Councilor)
  • Nov 11-14 in FIN (Youth ministry delegates with the Youth Ministry Councilor)
  • Nov 15-16 in CIN (Missions delegates with Councilor for the Missions)

Three provinces will benefit from deeper communion with the RM and his Council through the Extraordinary Visitation experience

  • Feb 4 - May 16: FIN province (Philippines North – PNG – Solomon Islands)
  • July 25 - Aug 23: MYM vice-province (Myanmar)
  • Aug 27- Oct 17: GIA province (Japan)

There will be consultation for the Provincial Superior:

  • April (PGS: Vice-province of Papua New Guinea – Solomon Islands)
  • October (THA: Province of Thailand – Cambodia - Laos)

There are specific ongoing formation occasions for various groups of confreres

  • Feb 29-Mar 12: Rome – Novice directors (Italian)
  • Apr 6-10: Rome – Salesian Holiness – Postulation of Saints
  • Apr 22-24: Rome – Accompaniment in formation
  • May 2-6: Rome – (New) Provincial Economers Course
  • May 16-27: Rome – Youth Ministry Delegates School
  • May 19-22: Rome – Editor of Salesian Bulletin
  • June 5-18: Rome – New Provincials course (FIS and VIE)
  • Sept 23-29: Rome – Provincials Mid-term evaluation (FIN and KOR)
  • Nov 15-17: Seoul – Delegates to the Salesian Family and Salesian Cooperators
  • Nov 20-22: K’Long – Delegates to the Salesian Family and Salesian Cooperators
  • Nov 25-27: Cebu – Delegates to the Salesian Family and Salesian Cooperators
  • Nov 26-Dec 10: Rome – Novice directors (English)
  • Nov 28-30: Madrid – Provincial Mission Office Directors (G 30)
  • Don Bosco Past Pupils celebrate the 11th EAO Regional Congress – Dili, Timor Leste (Oct 4-8)
